Changes in proportion of side population cells and gene expression in bovine endometrium after Intrauterine administration of povidone-iodine

To clarify whether the regenerative mechanism of endometrium after PVP-I treatment is similar to that after parturition in cows, mRNA expression profiles in bovine endometrium were investigated after PVP-I treatment in cows. Common differentially expressed genes between after PVP-I administration and parturition were few. The difference of the pattern of gene expression changes between after PVP-I administration and postpartum period suggests that the endometrial regeneration after PVP-I administration had different mechanism from parturition. To clarify the changes of gene expression in bovine endometrium after PVP-I treatment, 3 female cows were used. The endometrial tissues were collected 4 times from the same individual. Several endometrial tissues were alternately biopsied using uterine biopsy forceps from the left and right uterine horns on day 0 , 2, 7 and 14 after PVP-I treatment.
