Gross Primary productivity (GPP) of vegetation refers to the total amount of organic matter produced by photosynthesis per unit area per unit time of green plants, which is an important ecological index to evaluate the sustainable development of terrestrial ecosystems. This dataset provides a global GPP remote sensing product with a spatial resolution of 500 meters and a temporal resolution of 4 days from 2000 to 2022. This product is based on MuSyQ LAI products, NIRv data, MCD12Q1 classification data, ERA5 meteorological data, and Köppen climate zone classification maps, and builds GPP inversion algorithms for natural vegetation and farmland respectively. For natural vegetation, a GPP algorithm that distinguishes 42 types of light use efficiency and their responses to vegetation functional traits is adopted; for farmland, an estimation method that distinguishes the impact factors of growth season stress is used. This product can reduce the estimation error of terrestrial vegetation productivity caused by spatial scale and vegetation physiological and ecological processes, and can provide support for global vegetation research, ecological environment monitoring, and related decision-making.
