For the off-line fluorescence measurments three 1-L Roux culture bottles were used, each with 0.9 L of algae culture, with continuous air bubbling (1 L/min), under controlled room temperature conditions (298 ± 2) K To assess the microalgae growth kinetics, every 12 hours during five days, three samples of 3 mL each were taken from every bottle; additionally, a final control measurement was taken on the seventh day. Fluorescence measurements were taken for every sample. Two experiments were performed with the only difference for the initial microalgae concentration, x<sub>0</sub>: Experiment A, x<sub>0</sub> = (34 ± 2) mg/L, and Experiment B, x<sub>0</sub> = (42 ± 2) mg/L.
