Effect of EGFR activation on mouse chondrocytes

We examined the change of chondrocyte transcriptome after EGFR activation by TGF-a and inhibition by gefitinib. Data analysis showed that EGFR activation down-regulates cartilage ECM biosynthesis and promotes ECM degradation. Gefitinib can reverse the effects of EGFR on chondrocytes.
