<p>3D scan of a piece of red ochre. Red ochre was one of the available
and used natural colors of the Stone Age. It was used in cave paintings,
to color clothing and skins, as well as for burial rituals from the
Middle Paleolithic to the Neolithic. Also the Venus of Willendorf
was originally completely covered by red ochre. The item originated
from layer 9 of the Willendorf II site in the Wachau Region in Lower
Austria.</p>
