The next-generation sequencing of VS tumor samples revealed specific miRNA expression pattern that correlated with patients hearing impairment. Among top DEMs identified in VS tumor samples derived form poor hearing patients are miR 449a/b, miR 15/16-1 and hypoxamiRs. The bioinformatic functional analysis identified molecular pathways regulated by these miRNAs, including HIF-1, MAPK and Wnt signaling pathways. The results of our study give a new insight into potential molecular mechanisms related to hearing loss in the course of VS.
