Lithocarpus kostermansii genome assembly and annotation

Lithocarpus konstermansii, an endemic oak species, is increasingly threatened by habitat loss and climate change, necessitating genomic resources for its conservation. This study generated a high-quality reference genome using long-read sequencing and short-read data for error correction, enabling comprehensive annotation and analysis. Comparative genomics revealed key evolutionary traits and genetic diversity critical for the species' resilience and adaptability. The reference genome provides a foundational tool for conservation efforts, including habitat restoration and genetic monitoring.
