Vietnam (2011): TRaC Male Clients Behavioral Survey USAID Social Marketing for HIV Prevention Project, Endline (TRaC: FSW clients, rd 3)

Male clients of female sex workers account for more new HIV infections in Vietnam than any other group. With funding from USAID, PSI Vietnam has been implementing The USAID Social Marketing for HIV Prevention Project in 7 PEPFAR provinces since 2007. The 2011 Male Client Behavioral Survey (round 3, endline) is required to monitor progress against contract deliverables (indicators in the PMEP) and to inform a total market strategy for condom social marketing.The study population for this tracking survey is men aged 18-40 years old who report having sex with SWs in the last 3 months and resident for the past 6 months in the 7 provinces (Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, HCMC, Can Tho, An Giang, and Nghe An). The objectives of the study are i) to monitor project coverage and assess progress towards contract deliverables including changes in risk reduction behaviors and related determinants, as outlined in PMEP including; ii) evaluate correlation between project coverage and changes in key PMEP behavioral and determinant indicators; iii) provide data to support the continued development and implementation of a total market strategy for condom social marketing
