JMJD3 is a demethylase for histone H3K27. Previous studies showed that JMJD3 is overexpressed in myelodysplastic syndrome and related diseases. To analyze the role of overexpressed JMJD3 in leukemogenesis, we generated conditional knockin (cKI) mice for JMJD3. We found that overexpressed JMJD3 renders higher long-term hematopoietic reconstitution ability and higher susceptibility to leukemia.
