Genotypes and hematological characteristics of αβ-thalassemia carriers

This study included 14,146 adult participants, with complete datasets comprising hematological parameter measurements and genetic analysis results. The hematological parameters of the subjects focused on in this study were Hb, MCV, MCH, and Hb A2, and the detection range of genetic anlysis included 3 deletional α-thalassemia variants (--SEA, -α3.7, -α4.2) and 3 non-deletional α-globin gene mutations (αCSα, αQSα, αWSα), and 17 common non-deletional β-globin gene mutations (βCD41-42, βCD43, βIVS-II-654, βCD17, βCD14-15, β-28, β-29, βCD71-72, βE, βIVS-I-1, βCD27-28, βIVS-I-5, βCAP, βInt, βCD31, β-30, β-32).
