The Dog Gut Microbial Genome Collection (DGMGC) is a comprehensive multi-kingdom genomic resource of the canine gut microbiome. It comprises 570 prokaryotic species-level genome bins, 16 fungal species-level genome bins, and 10,854 viral operational taxonomic units (vOTUs), reconstructed from 3,737 canine fecal metagenomes across 14 countries and five continents. The DGMGC captures extensive uncultured microbial diversity, host-associated adaptation, geographic variation, and prokaryote–virus interactions, and provides a foundational dataset for studying canine gut microbial ecology and microbiome-related health within the One Health framework.
