Appendix A describes the method taken from the literature (Maxim and Van der Sluijs, 2014) and reproduce the definitions that are also useful for understanding our paper. Appendix B details the original typology of quality criteria developed for Qualichem_epi. Appendix C provides details about the scale used for eliciting experts’ judgments. Appendix D includes the detailed argumentation of the interviewees, for each critical criterion of Qualichem_epi and for the two studies considered.
