Gene expression profile at single cell level of nucleus pulposus cells (NPCs) from the nucleus pulposus (NP) tissue in the mild degenerative intervertebral discs (MDD) and server degenerative intervertebral discs(SDD).

It has been shown that the divergence of NPCs plays an important role in the progression of intervertebral disc degeneration (IVDD). We used single cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) to analyze the diversity of NPCs in the IVDD. Overall design: NP tissue of the different degenerative grade of IVDs were isolated in patient IVDs and analyzed using scRNAseq.
