CCNE1 copy-number is a biomarker for response to combination WEE1-ATR inhibition in ovarian and endometrial cancer models

In this study, the authors identified CCNE1 copy number as a biomarker for the response of ovarian and endometrial cancers to WEE1i-ATRi combination therapy. The combination inhibition of WEE1 and ATR decreased cell viability, inhibited colony formation CCNE1 amplified cells in vitro and prohibited tumor growth in patient-derived xenograft mouse models with high CCNE1. The PDXs were genomic sequenced to measure CCNE1 copy numbers and genes mutation status.
