Chimeric Flavivirus Structures

This project uses a safe chimeric platform to produce flavivirus antigens for structural elucidation by single particle analysis cryo-electron microscopy. We have already validated this approach and have resolved structures for important human viruses down to atomic resolution. The single particle analysis requires large data sets to be collected for image processing on the HPC. These findings will inform basic understanding of flavivirus architecture at the atomic scale, providing a rational basis for the design of new vaccines and therapies to treat these important human pathogens.
