16s amplicon sequencing of alimentary microbiota of mice inoculated with Neisseria musculi

The purpose of this study was to examine murine alimentary ecology during colonization by the commensal bacteria species, Neisseria musculi. Mice were inoculated with wild-type N. musculi or a Type IV Pilus mutant and monitored for N. musculi colonization and persistence over time. To determine the influence of microbiota composition on observed N. musculi wt and mutant in vivo phenotypes, we performed 16s amplicon sequencing and analysis.
