Osmia bicornis bicornis Genome sequencing and assembly

The aim of this study is to create new genomic resources for Osmia bicornis, the red mason bee. Osmia bicornis is a solitary bee pollinator that provides an important pollination service, particularly of fruit trees, and one of the most abundant solitary bee species in Central Europe. Genomic resources are currently extremely limited for O. bicornis and this project aims to address this by generating several transcriptomes and a draft genome for this species.
