PanAnd - A. gerardi populations

This study aims to evaluate the effect of polyploidy on the genetic diversity and adaptive potential of A. gerardi populations. First, we utilize this range-wide sequencing dataset to assess whether contemporary genetic diversity of A. gerardi populations reflects the loss and fragmentation of North American prairies.Then, we test three interrelated hypotheses for how mixed-ploidy persists in A. gerardi. Finally, we investigate the interaction between polyploidy and local adaptation by investigating the effect of natural ploidal variation on ecologically relevant traits in a common garden experiment.
