VPRS 5379 Index To Guardians Of Minors

Under the Marriage and Matrimonial Causes Statute 1865 the Chief Justice was to appoint in every district of a registrar or deputy registrar of births deaths and marriages some justice or justices able to give written consent to the marriage of a minor where a parent or guardian was unavailable or incapable of doing so. For this purpose, the justice was to act as the guardian of the minor.This series contains the index to such appointments. The details give the name and residence of the person so appointed, the date of the Commission, the jurisdiction of it (being the district of a registrar or deputy registrar, the duration of the commission and by whom the appointment was made.
