Expression profiles of Col-0, adf4 and ADF1-4Ri (in which expressions of all of subclass I ADFs were downregulated) uninfected and Golovinomyces orontii-infected leaves

ACTIN DEPOLYMERIZING FACTORs are involved in regulation of various aspects of plant physiologies, including plant immunity. However, it was not known how ADF regulates those plant physiologies. We hypothesized that ADFs regulate gene expression through regulation of nuclear organization. To test this hypothesis, we performed microarray analysis for A. thaliana adf mutants that were both uninfected and infected with powdery mildew. Plants were grown at 12h L/12h D at 22 oC, and mature leaves of 4 week old plants were used for RNA extraction. For G. orontii infection, 4 week old plants were infected with G. orontii conidiospores, and mature leaves at 3 or 5 days post inoculation were sampled.
