Replication Data for: Nasopalatine duct cyst: A multicenter retrospective study of 63 cases and an integrative review of the clinical, imaginological and histopathological aspects

This article presents a retrospective study and integrative review of the literature of the clinical, imaginological and histopathological characteristics of the nasopalatine duct cysts (NPDC), the most common nonodontogenic cysts of the jaws. Despite beign described as a relatively common finding, NPDCs diagnosis remains a challenge for general dentists. This study aims to enhance diagnostic accuracy by describing the clinicopathological, imaging and histopathological features of 63 NPDC cases of different dental centers. An international, multicenter, retrospective case series was conducted, collecting demographic, radiographic, and histopathological data. Additionally, an integrative literature review retrieved 67 studies of NPDC. Our results confirm that NPDC should be a key consideration in the differential diagnosis of intraosseous lesions in the anterior maxilla. Accurate diagnosis through radiographic and histopathological evaluation is essential to prevent misdiagnosis and improper treatment. (2025-03-14)
