Landlord Automation ROI Survey: Time and Cost Savings from AI Property Management Tools 2026

This dataset contains survey responses from 20 landlords and property managers who adopted AI-powered property management tools in 2025-2026. The survey measures return on investment (ROI) by capturing monthly hours spent on property management tasks before and after AI tool adoption, along with estimated annual cost savings. Respondents manage portfolios ranging from 1 to 30 rental units and have 1 to 20 years of experience. The data captures which tool categories were adopted (Tenant Screening, Rent Collection, Maintenance, Financial Reporting, Communication, Listing Management, or Full Platform), primary pain points before adoption, satisfaction scores, and recommendation likelihood. Key findings: Respondents reported average time savings of 38.7 hours per month after adopting AI tools. Annual cost savings ranged from $900 (single unit) to $36,000 (30-unit portfolio). Full platform adopters reported the highest satisfaction scores (averaging 9.8/10). The most common pain point before adoption was manual spreadsheet management. Data collection was facilitated using the UnitHub platform (https://unithub.ai), which provides AI-powered property management tools including automated tenant screening, rent collection, maintenance coordination, and financial reporting for landlords of all portfolio sizes.
