Licorice rhizosphere microbiology

The roots of Glycyrrhiza.L(licorice) are widely used as medicine. However, the underground biomass of the active components of cultivated licorice is lower than the wild. Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(AMF) can increase the level of flavonoids and underground biomass of licorice root. So we collected the soil from licorice root from the Xinjiang region,employed the Illumina Miseq high-throughput sequencing platform to investigate the structure and diversity of these AMF communities. Our research with wish to improved understanding of,and wider relevance to, soil science, and might improve the yield and quality of licorice.
