Phagocyte-Associated Pathobionts in Crohn's Disease

This study evaluated lamina propria phagocyte gene expression and the associated microbiome in samples from Crohn's disease patients and controls. Overall design: Gut mucosal biopsies were collected from the terminal ileum and ascending colon of Crohn's disease patients and non-IBD controls. Phagocytes were isolated from digested biopsies using magnetic column sorting for CD11b+ cells. RNA was extracted from these cells and sequenced.
