Synergistic effect of metformin and nitrogen treatments on carbon and nitrogen metabolisms in grapes and underlying mechanisms

Under nitrogen deficiency, metformin could maintain functioning of nitrogen metabolism and enhance the utilization rate of nitrogen in grape plants. This study provided insights into the application of metformin in improving resistance to low-nitrogen stress or utilization rate of nitrogen in plants.
