THE INFLUENCE OF MODERN METHODS ON LEARNING AND REMEMBERING NEW VOCABULARY

The rapid development of digital technologies and cognitive approaches has significantly transformed the process of vocabulary acquisition in foreign language education. Traditional techniques, including rote memorization and word lists, continue to play a role in language learning; however, they are increasingly supplemented by modern learner-centered methods. The present article examines the influence of contemporary methods on learning and remembering new vocabulary, with particular attention to digital flashcards, mobile applications, spaced repetition systems, gamification, multimedia resources, contextual learning, collaborative activities, and personalized learning technologies. The study is based on a qualitative descriptive analysis of existing theoretical perspectives and selected research findings concerning technology-supported vocabulary acquisition. The results indicate that modern methods can improve learner engagement, motivation, retention, recall, autonomy, and the ability to use vocabulary in meaningful contexts.
