Transcriptional profile of long term constitutive activation of Phosphoinositide 3-kinase (CBX103). unidentified

The objects of this study were to analyze the effect of long-term activation of PI3K on cardiac hypertrophy and cardiac aging in mice heart. Young (3-month old) and old (20 to 24-month old), transgenic mice (expressing a cardiac-restricted constitutively active mutant of PI3K, caPI3K) and non-transgenic (NTg) mice were examined. We analyzed gene expression using whole-genome microarrays on heart samples (n=6 for each group). A comparison of the gene expression profile among 4 groups was performed with special attention to the genes affected by constitutive activation of insulin signaling in young and old mice heart.
