Fecal sterol and stanol profiles, taxonomic fecal microbiota compositions and serum lipid concentrations were determined in adults with obesity, who followed an iso- and normocaloric very low-carbohydrate (below 10% E), high-fat (above 75 %E) diet for 6 months, as part of the Norwegian CARBFUNC study, a 2-year randomized controlled trail.
