EPA Clearinghouse for Inventories and Emission Factors (CHIEF)

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Clearinghouse for
Inventories and Emission Factors (CHIEF) provides a mechanism of
exchanging information on air pollution control matters between
federal, state, and local agencies, private citizens, universities,
contractors and foreign governments. The CHIEF maintains air pollution
emission factors and criteria for six major pollutants (particulates
(PM-10), SO2, CO, NOx, VOC, and lead) and toxic substances from
stationary and mobile sources. A listserver

The Air CHIEF CD-ROM version 8.0 contains text files, Air CHIEF
files, FIRE (Factor Information retrieval System) files, and EPA
document files. The Air CHIEF database consists of the

AP-42, A Compilation of Air Pollutant Emission Factors (5th edition,
Supplements A-F). These consist of emission factors and activities
that produce criteria and toxic pollutant emissions for stationary
point and area sources.

Emissions estimates of 25 toxic pollutants.

NAICS and SIC classification codes.

SPECIATE - a Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) and Particulate Matter
(PM) Speciation dataset which contains speciation profiles for
various sources of VOC and PM emissions.

BEIS - The Personal Computer version of the Biogenic Emissions
Inventory System (BEIS 2.3) allows users to estimate hourly
emissions of biogenic volatile organic compound and soil
nitrogen oxide emissions for any county in the contiguous
United States.

CHEM9 - CHEM9 is a compound properties processor that is based upon
an EPA compound database of over 1000 compounds.

WATER8 - WATER8 is an analytical model for estimating
compound-specific air emissions from wastewater collection & treatment
systems.

CHEMDAT8 - CHEMDAT8 is a Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheet that includes
analytical models for estimating VOC emissions from treatment, storage
and disposal facility (TSDF) processes.

software that will estimate filterable PM2.5 emissions.
