Argonaute 2 localises to sites of sporocyst in the schistosome-infected snail, Biomphalaria glabrata

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) represent a class of small RNAs that play a role in gene silencing, and therefore are critical for regulation gene expression. In molluscs, miRNAs have been found to be involved in various biological processes, including development, immune response, reproduction and stress adaptation. In this study, we aimed to better understand the miRNA processing protein machinery and subsequent miRNAs (and potential targets), relevant to trematode parasite (Schistosoma mansoni)-snail (Biomphalaria glabrata) host interaction.
