Amsterdam canal sediment, water, and biofilm 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing and biofilm metagenome sequencing

Urban canals in the Amsterdam city centre sediment, canal wall biofilm and water were sampled in July 2019. Environmental samples as well as substrate-amended methanogenic and methanotrophic incubations were sequenced. Bacterial and archaeal 16S rRNA gene amplicons were sequenced in parallel. Canal wall biofilm DNA was used for whole metagenome shotgun sequencing. All sequencing was performed by Macrogen (Amsterdam, Netherlands).
