Abstract— We introduce a groundbreaking 2 THz spectrometer suitable for space use, operating at room temperature. Our objective is to measure high-altitude atomic oxygen and use doppler for 3D wind determination via limb sounding. Employing Schottky diode-based mixers and multipliers, we've developed a solid-state receiver with Double Side-Band (DSB) sensitivity below 8000K. This sensitivity enables the measurement of wind velocities, via atomic oxygen detection, in the 100-200 km altitude range with <20 m/s precision. Our approach encompasses design, fabrication, and sensitivity assessment of the receiver.
