This series consists of combined volumes of rates and valuations for the Shire of Harwood for the period of 1907-1955. These records were created under Regulation 51, schedule 1 under the Local Government (Shires) Act 1905 (Act No.33, 1905) and Local Government Act 1906 (Act No.56, 1906) and subsequent ordinances and regulations. (1)These valuation and rate books consist of the following information: the name and address of both the owner and occupier, situation, areas or dimensions of land, unimproved capital value, land valuation, rates due, and rates payed including any arrears.Endnotes:1.
