This dataset contains quarter-hourly household electricity-consumption data collected during the Swedish pilot of the EU Horizon 2020 RESCHOOL project. The pilot examined the use of the Energy Beehive serious-game application to support household energy awareness, demand-side flexibility, and engagement with energy-community activities. The dataset includes 250,272 observations from 20 pseudonymised participant profiles, covering the period from 13 January to 29 July 2026. Electricity consumption is reported at 15-minute intervals in kilowatt-hours (kWh). The data can support analyses of household demand profiles, daily and seasonal consumption patterns, morning and evening peak demand, and changes in electricity use during the pilot period. The dataset should be interpreted as observational pilot data rather than evidence from a controlled experiment. Electricity consumption may have been influenced by seasonal variation, weather conditions, household routines, participant onboarding dates, and levels of engagement with the application. Consequently, changes in consumption cannot be attributed solely to the RESCHOOL intervention. A technical disruption associated with a fire at Utrecht University’s data centre in Almere affected project infrastructure during May 2026. In this dataset, the period around 15–16 May contains an unusually high number of zero readings rather than missing timestamps. These observations should therefore be treated with caution when calculating averages, demand profiles, or changes over time. The CSV also contains a “Total consumption kWh” field that is zero throughout the dataset and should not be used as the primary consumption variable. Researchers should use the quarter-hourly electricity-consumption field described in the accompanying README. Several participant series also contain identical consumption profiles; these records have been retained in the published dataset but should be verified before participant-level comparative analysis. Participant identifiers have been replaced with pseudonymous codes. Nevertheless, high-frequency household electricity-consumption data can remain sensitive and should be handled responsibly. The dataset is accompanied by a README and dataset overview describing its structure, variables, quality considerations, limitations, and recommended use.
