Number of overnight stays on French coasts winter 2018-2019, by region

A majority of coastal overnight stays were spent on the Mediterranean coast during winter 2018-2019. Besides, the French region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur recorded alone more than four million nights on its shores that season. Therefore, it was the most frequented region for coastal tourism by far in winter. The second and third most visited regions were Brittany and New Aquitaine, respectively, with 1.34 million and 1.27 million overnight stays spent on their coastal areas.
