In this study, we performed a comparative genomic analysis of 46 E. coli strains isolated from Italian dairy cows, healthy or with full-blown mastitis, to ascertain the genomic differences in terms of chromosome dimension, specific virulence factors and antibiotic resistance genes, as well as determination of sequence type (ST) to corroborate scientific knowledge about Mammary pathogenic E. coli (MPEC)
