LINGUISTIC FEATURES OF THE USE OF CHIASMUS IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

This article examines the linguistic features of the use of chiasmus in the English language. Chiasmus, as a stylistic and rhetorical device characterized by an inverted parallel structure (ABBA pattern), plays a significant role in enhancing expressiveness, coherence, and memorability in discourse. The study analyzes chiasmus from syntactic, lexical-semantic, and morphological perspectives, highlighting how structural inversion and parallelism contribute to meaning construction and stylistic effect. Special attention is given to its functional roles in different types of texts, including literary works, public speeches, and everyday communication.
