Plant and Animal Phenology Data for the United States

Phenology data for 252 species of plants (2009 and 2010) and 58 species of animals (2010) are collected at 1,000 locations across the United States. Protocols used for plant species are documented in Thomas et. al., 2010. Protocols used for animal species (and recently added palm and live oak plant species) are documented in Denny et. al., In prep. (contact [e-mail] for current information). Data were collected using the phenophase status approach (Thomas et. al., 2010). Latitude and longitude (WGS84 Datum) have been rounded to 0.1 degrees to protect observer privacy. This is a suite of five data sets (Plants 2009, Plants 2010, Plants 2011, Animals 2010, Animals 2011) each provided with and without full phenophase definitions.
