Dataset of social wasps (Vespidae: Polistinae) from floodplain forest fragments in Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil

This dataset contains occurrence records of social wasps (Vespidae: Polistinae) collected in floodplain forest fragments in Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. The data were generated as part of a study evaluating the effects of fragment size and successional stage on species richness and community composition. The dataset includes information on species identification, sampling date, sampling site, habitat context (forest or matrix), sampling type, and collection method. Records were obtained through active, passive, and opportunistic sampling, including entomological netting, baited traps with fruit juice, Van Someren–Rydon traps, and pitfall traps. Field sampling was conducted between 24 February 2023 and 14 June 2024. Included file: occurrence dataset (.csv) Notes:This dataset includes only records with confirmed occurrences of social wasps.
