Research progress of NLRP3 inflammasome in systemic lupus erythematosus

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune disease, the etiology of which remains incompletely understood. Recent studies have demonstrated that NLRP3 inflammasome (NACHT, LRR and PYD domains-containing protein 3 inflammasome) plays an important role in the pathogenesis of SLE. This article seeks to comprehensively review the advancements in research concerning the NLRP3 inflammasome in SLE, encompassing recent developments in its activation mechanisms, modes of action, and therapeutic strategies.
