Trophic connectivity via nekton in an arid zone estuarine landscape

Project Description
To determine:1) the relative importance of mangroves v cyanobacterial mats in supporting nekton in an arid zone estuary; 2) whether trophic connectivity via nekton is dependent on the spatial arrangement of the estuarine habitat mosaic; and 3) whether tidal movements of the giant shovelnose ray (Rhinobatos typus) are likely to represent an important biotic vector of energy transfer across the arid estuarine landscape.
