Genetic map of the bulb mite, Rhizoglyphus robini

The primary objective of this study was the construction of a linkage map for the bulb mite (Rhizoglyphus robini), which facilitated the anchoring of its genome at a chromosome scale. The analysis was conducted on the whole genomes of 199 individuals, derived from four experimental crosses. The resulting genetic map enabled the characterization of heterochiasmy, as well as the sex-specific recombination landscape. Additionally, the chromosome-scale assembly that was obtained was instrumental in identifying repeat elements within the bulb mite genome.
