Hemiptera repetitive DNA and sex chromosome evolution

Satellite DNA (satDNA) are highly repeated in tandem sequences mainly located on the heterochromatin, although some occurrence on euchromatin were reported. Here aiming to advance on the understanding of satDNA and multiple sex chromosome evolution on heteropterans, we combined cytogenetic and genomic approaches to study for the first time the repeats populating the genome of a Lygaeidae bug, Oxycarenus hyalipennis.
