The severe acute respiratory syndrome virus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) causes fatal pneumonia in humans. However the detailed pathogenesis of this virus still remains unclear. In the current study, in order to elucidate the detailed pathology and host immune response to SARS-CoV-2 infection, cynomolgus macaques were experimentally infected with SARS-CoV-2 twice, and whole blood samples were collected at multiple time points for transcriptomic analyses.
