data for "A Large-Scale Evaluation of the Surface Water and Ocean Topography Mission Measurements of Lake Water Surface Elevation Accuracy Drivers and Data Quality Strategies to Enhance Data Availability and Reliability"

This dataset was developed as part of the study “A Large-Scale Evaluation of the Surface Water and Ocean Topography Mission Measurements of Lake Water Surface Elevation Accuracy Drivers and Data Quality Strategies to Enhance Data Availability and Reliability”, submitted to Water Resources Research. It includes the geographic locations of 132 Brazilian hydroelectric power plants (“reservoirs.gpkg”), their attributes (“ONS reservoir data.csv”), and time series of water surface elevation (WSE) measurements (“ONS timeseries.txt”). Additional data include the waterbodies from ANA, Brazil’s National Water and Sanitation Agency (“ANA waterbodies.gpkg”), and hydrographic regions defined by ANA (“Hidrografia_Brasil.gpkg”). The SWOT tiles intersecting Brazil are also provided (“Brazilian SWOT tiles.gpkg”). Due to Zenodo's file size limitations, the complete Version-C SWOT datasets for the LakeSP_Obs, Raster_250m, and Raster_100m products are not included in this repository, however, they are freely available at https://search.earthdata.nasa.gov/search. The sizes of the zipped folders containing the relevant tiles for each product are: 13.43 GB for LakeSP_Obs, 56.47 GB for Raster_250m, and 191.96 GB for Raster_100m.
