Version 1.0 of the WG_plate program is a MATLAB®-based graphical user interface (GUI) that demonstrates the application of the Wavelet-Galerkin approach to approximately solve the coupled equations of motions that govern the structural dynamics of a monopole plate structure subjected to non-stationary, stochastic downburst wind loads. Generated using MATLAB’s AppDesigner development environment, the program allows users to simulate a scenario, in which a downburst travelling on a straight-line path causes non-stationary dynamic vibration of the slender structure. The program is developed through the support of the NSF project CMMI-1434880 led by the Principal Investigator, Associate Professor Luca Caracoglia of Northeastern University’s Civil and Environmental Engineering Department.
