In this study, we have shown the application of an acclimatized microbial consortium for increased biomethanation through anaerobic digestion of lignocellulosic biocomponents of rice straw. Combining the practical performance of the reactors with the microbial community dynamics (both bacterial and archaea), this study gives a good explanation of the role of each microbial group responsible for better carbohydrate metabolism for higher methane yield in anaerobic digestion of lignocellulose.
