Frankston Natural Disaster Community Restoration Part 1

The Frankston region maintains many natural area reserves of high environmental significance that provide habitat for endangered, threatened and vulnerable flora and fauna. These reserves have dedicated community groups that work hard to restore and protect the environmental qualities. The Green Army Team will work alongside community groups to clean up the impacts of storms that occurred in February 2015. The large amounts of rain and fallen debris has impacted on waterways, riparian zones and inhibited public access. The team will help to remove debris and to build resilience for future storm events, protect significant fauna and flora species, enhance water quality and promote public engagement with the environment.
