资源简介:
Soil from one of three dug pit features at the Armstrong Bay Pit site (21SL1134) was submitted for phytolith and starch grain analysis. The site is located on the south shore of Armstrong Bay at the east end of Lake Vermilion, St. Louis County, Minnesota. No cultural materials were recovered at this site; however, it is suspected that these pits were historic Ojibwe food storage pits (David Radford, personal communication, April, 2012). Phytolith and starch grain analysis of fill from one of the pit features was utilized to recover microbotanical plant remains from foods that may have been stored within the pit.
