Specimen 9 was a full scale model of a common, current pile-to-deck connections. It was tested to investigate the effects of scale on performance by comparison to Specimen 6: Precast Pile/Two-Thirds Scale/Axially Loaded/T-Headed Bar. Additionally, Specimen 9 provided a reference with which to compare future specimens with modified connection details. Specimen 9 consisted of a precast concrete pile connected to a reinforced concrete deck through partial embedment and longitudinal T-Headed connnection steel.
